
Lauren Tanner Boyd grew up in Macon, Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia and is certified in Art Education. She currently teaches painting classes at the 567 Center for Renewal in downtown Macon. She has exhibited work at Macon Art Alliance and Middle Georgia Art Association. Lauren paints in oils, acrylics and watercolors. She is inspired by art history and in particular classical art techniques from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Her art is largely based on the human form which displays in her work of human portraiture. She also paints landscapes and still life. Lauren has had work on exhibit at Macon Arts Alliance for the Plein Air exhibit where artists were asked to paint around town during the Cherry Blossom Festival. During the summer of 2024, Lauren had work on exhibit at the McEachern Art Center for the show “Portray” in collaboration with Mercer University. Currently Lauren is working on a body of work that will be exhibited during the intertribal Powwow that will be held at the Gathering of Nations in New Mexico. She will be representing her nation‘s tribe the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
